Canada hosts numerous hard rock lithium deposits in Ontario and Quebec provinces within a geologically ancient region known as the Superior Province. Spodumene pegmatites of the Superior Province generally occur along boundaries of geological sub provinces. Fertile granites near sub-provincial boundaries are the sources of the lithium and rare element pegmatites.
